Thai pop jazz artiste Varitda has unveiled her latest single Twenty-First. Blending her signature vocals with a smooth, dream-like melody, the track is a tribute to love with a hidden significance behind its title.
The singer blended lo-fi with the dreamy allure of dream pop to immerse listeners in a love story that unfolds like a dream. For Twenty-First, Varitda collaborated with Korean songwriter Jamie Song while the lyrics were penned by Puenyai Chattwara. The song’s production was handled by Australian producer Nache Chan.
More than just a number, the song title marks Varitda’s wedding anniversary and through the lyrics, the singer expresses the joy of loving and being loved. Likening it to moonlight, the song was conceived around the idea that love does not need to be loud to be profound.
The single builds on Varitda’s momentum in the pop jazz scene that saw her album Mood3: I’m in the Mood for Love nabbing the Best Recording of the Year award at The Guitar Mag Awards 2024, while her previous single Never Mine soared to the second place on the Cat Radio Chart.
Twenty-First is streaming on all platforms, along with the official music video on YouTube.
